EcoCreativity in Diversity is a two-day cultural and educational event in Luxembourg that brings together art, nature, and the richness of our diverse society.

Here, creativity becomes a universal language that connects generations, cultures, and life experiences.

This initiative is organised in partnership with sevengardens (Germany) and Aura Dorée ASBL (Luxembourg) with the support of:

  • Ministère de la Famille, des Solidarité, du Vivre ensemble et d’Accueil

  • Zusumme Liewen

Why it matters

EcoCreativity in Diversity is not just a series of workshops, but an invitation to dialogue about empathy, inclusion, and sustainable development in today’s society.

The project aims to:

  • Environmental education through art – fostering creativity by using natural materials and practices that promote awareness of the environment, health, and well-being.

  • Intercultural and intergenerational dialogue – creating a space for understanding beyond linguistic and cultural boundaries.

  • Non-verbal self-expression – art as a language that everyone can understand.

  • Inclusive education – equal access to learning for all, regardless of age, origin, or abilities.

  • Celebrating diversity – embracing the beauty of natural colours and the uniqueness of every story.

The workshops will be led by

artist Peter Reichenbach and art therapist Veronika Dovha, using the internationally recognised sevengardens method, awarded by UNESCO as an example of Education for Sustainable Development.

Peter Reichenbach – Artist, educator, founder of sevengardens

Peter Reichenbach (b. 1962, Essen, Germany) is an artist, sculptor, and creator of interdisciplinary projects that unite art, education, and the principles of sustainable development. After working in the social sector and industry, he dedicated himself to cultural education, focusing on creativity as a tool for ecological awareness and social dialogue.

In 2009, he founded the international initiative sevengardens, based on creating dyes from plants. The method promotes ecological responsibility, intercultural exchange, and inclusive education. Under his leadership, more than 79 dye gardens have been established across Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

Key projects include:

  • Seven European Gardens as part of Ruhr2010 (28 installations across the Ruhr region)

  • Mobile Flying Gardens for museums and schools

  • Educational programs in collaboration with the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia

Peter’s work extends far beyond Germany, with projects in Iraq, Iran, Peru, and other countries.

He presented the Flying Gardens at the Climate Conference in Lima and established a dedicated workshop in Essen-Altendorf. In 2012, sevengardens was officially recognised by UNESCO as an example of Education for Sustainable Development and awarded the title “Outstanding Project of the UN Decade on Biodiversity.” The method is now part of the UN University network, and Peter himself is a member of the working group “Cultural Education – ESD.”

Today, he is considered one of the leading figures in ecological education through art, showing how creativity can unite generations, cultures, and continents.

Workshop “Inclusion Through Natural Colors”

In our two-day workshop, children and adults will discover the world of natural colors in a hands-on, inclusive environment. Guided by German artist Peter Reichenbach, participants will learn how to create vibrant pigments from flowers, leaves, and roots, and experiment with them on paper and fabric.

The workshops combine art, nature, and sustainability while offering a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds — across cultures, generations, and abilities. Alongside the practical process of making natural dyes, participants will engage with themes of biodiversity, cultural heritage, and creative expression.

At the heart of this initiative lies the partnership between Aura Dorée ASBL, with its long-standing commitment to supporting families and inclusion in Luxembourg, and sevengardens, a UNESCO-recognized network that uses color as a bridge for dialogue and education.

The project will conclude with an exhibition of the artworks created by participants alongside works by Peter Reichenbach — a living testimony to diversity, creativity, and sustainable learning.
